There’s nothing quite like the joy of gathering around a table, surrounded by reclaimed wood, beautiful colors, and creative energy. On Sunday, April 6th, the Suzy Lakeside booth came to life with our very first Barn Wood Quilts for Beginners workshop—and what a heartwarming, paint-splattered success it was!

Participants joined us for an afternoon filled with rustic charm, learning, and hands-on creativity. The project? A stunning, handmade barn wood quilt created from pre-cut pieces of reclaimed wood. All supplies were provided, and the atmosphere buzzed with excitement as each guest selected colors, followed simple patterns, and brought their art to life piece by piece.

🌿 What Made It SpecialWe designed this workshop especially for beginners—those inspired by Suzy Lakeside’s art but unsure how to achieve the final result. It was about breaking the process down into enjoyable steps: find, reimagine & build, and finish. With easy-to-follow instructions and friendly guidance, even first-timers left with beautiful wall art and a huge sense of accomplishment.

The best part? Every piece created was one-of-a-kind, just like the reclaimed wood we love. And yes, there was plenty of laughter, a little sawdust, and more than a few proud smiles.
